Four Class IX students took first place in the senior category with a low-cost water filter built from local materials.
Four Class IX students represented the school at the inter-school science fair held in Bengaluru on 10 October 2026. Their model, a water filter made from sand, charcoal and gravel that costs less than ₹200 to build, won first place in the senior category.
The team built and tested the filter over six weeks in the chemistry lab with their science teacher, measuring how clear the water was after each layer. The judges asked them to present the project again at the zonal round in December.
We share students' names and photos only with their parents' permission, so this story names the class but not the students.
